The Fairy Tale Project
Art Exhibition at Gallery 6 Broward Main Library, 100 South Andrews Avenue Ft. Lauderdale, Florida 33301
Exhibit runs March 30 to May 4, 2010 -
Free and open to the public
Children's book author Dani Lynn and artist Jacklyn Laflamme want to take children through a magical forest to teach them the beauty of storytelling.
Free story-time reading open to the general public at the library, where children will create a mobile with all the characters from the book. The workshop will take place from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. this Saturday April 17 and will feature Timothy Leistner, an adjunct professor of children's literature and language arts at Florida Atlantic University. He is also the coauthor of the book Exploring Language Arts Through Literature: Birth-Grade 8 and an artist himself.
They also hope to encourage them to grab more books.
``We put on this exhibition to inspire children's literacy,'' Laflamme said. ``We thought it might inspire children to read.'' - Source: The Miami Herald
